Jim Glover

Jim Glover is a veteran higher education administrator with more than 30 years of experience, including the past 18 years at Columbia University. Jim joined Columbia’s administration in 2007 after holding positions in student and academic affairs at Harvard, Tufts, and Boston University. At Columbia, his work has been focused on student affairs, curriculum development, cross-institutional academic agreements, Columbia’s successful 2016 accreditation process, and federal and state educational regulatory compliance. 

At Columbia, Jim is well-known as an outstanding leader with the skills and ability to successfully risk manage complex institutional projects. He has held positions in the Office of the Provost and three professional schools: the Mailman School of Public Health, the School of Social Work, and the Climate School. For the last four years, Jim has held the role of senior associate dean for academic administration at the Climate School, where he led the development of the school’s academic infrastructure and alongside a team of staff, faculty and researchers, helped implement the school’s master plan for education programs, launching two successful master’s degree programs in the fall of 2025. 

As Resolution Administrator and Vice Provost, Jim has responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the Columbia’s compliance with the resolution agreement struck with the federal government in July 2025. Jim will work alongside Columbia’s Office of General Counsel to prepare regular reports to the resolution monitor and ensure timely submission of the University’s required public reporting under the agreement, including the semi-annual report documenting our progress and activities towards implementing the agreement. In addition to the Office of General Counsel, Jim will work across teams in the University’s central administration and across Columbia’s schools to compile the information required to enable implementation of the resolution agreement.
